Every time I visit Anchorage, I drive the Seward Highway down the Turnagain Arm to the Portage Glacier. On this most recent trip I was lucky enough to drive it twice and on the second trip, the evening just before leaving, I managed to be in the right place at the right time to capture two amazing sights. The bore tide on the Turnagain Arm along with the two fabulous women who surfed it and the serenity of kite skiers and snowboarders on frozen Portage Lake.
