Things You Should Do On Whidbey Island, Washington: Hike Ebey's Landing
If you're visiting the Seattle area, have time to make a trip to up to Whidbey Island, and are greeted with a beautiful day - the Ebey's Landing hike is simply a must do. A combination of a hillside and beach walk, this hike is an easy and gorgeous way to spend a few hours.
In spite of the fact that the beginning of the trail passes by a picturesque field of wheat, it's a wonderful walk. A relatively flat 5.6 miles that makes a lovely short hike with absolutely stunning views of Puget Sound.
If you head out to the trail at the right time of year, you'll find beautiful colors of wildflowers covering this hillside part of your walk.
One thing about this hike to note is that the hillside portion is a narrow pathway, cut directly into the steep hillside. Not somewhere you want to loose your balance.
After descending down a short but steep path or sandy cascade, you'll complete the other half of this hike right on the beach. And really, does it get any better than that?
The Ebey's Landing Hike is one I would really like to do at least once a year - it's just such a beautiful and fun walk on a lovely island not to far from Seattle.
