Stay: An AirBnb Condo in Princeville, Kauai
When I booked this little Princeville condo, found on AirBnb, I wasn't quite sure how well it would work out for us based on its location. About an hour after arriving and a four minute walk down a tree lined path in our backyard, we found ourselves at this view point - overlooking Anini Beach. Aside from staying directly on the coast, it doesn't get much better than this. Or maybe it does when you add up all the other perks of this lovely condo including the fabulous hosts, Lani & Sky.
Before arriving, Lani & Sky, noticing the e-mail address I used to book, offered to provide us with a list of suggestions for where to shop for gluten free and allergen friendly products. What they sent instead was an honest detailed guide of where to buy what and everything one could possibly want to know about the healthy shopping options on the North Shore. It was fabulous and a harbinger of the great resources they provide at their condo.
We stayed in the smaller of their two condos and it had absolutely everything we needed and more. The kitchenette was sparkling clean upon our arrival and was stocked full of appliances to cook a wide variety of meals. This might seem silly, but one of the things that got me most excited about the kitchen was the still wrapped new sponge provided for cleaning (a notorious source of cross-contamination!). Other pluses of the small but well laid out space include a washer and dryer, a Netflix subscription, and reliable WiFi.
The condo also comes with it's own close-by parking spot, a cache of boogie boards and flippers, access to a small pool just across the pathway, and backyard access to the path which will take you down to Anini Beach.
If one were to score the walkability of this little condo, it would no doubt be a high one. With the Princeville Shopping Center, Anini Beach, and Queens Bath all being within walking distance. In the welcome book, Lani and Sky include a plethora of local information but most importantly there is a fantastic walking map of Princeville. If we had the opportunity to extend our stay (or when we return), we most certainly would have gone for drinks at the St. Regis, spent more time at Anini Beach and Queens Bath, and also tried to explore the Club Med ruins.
We'll certainly be returning to the North Shore and if we decide to stay in Princeville again - I'll be back on AirBnb hoping that this little condo (or the larger one next-door) is available for booking!
