Trip Video: Kauai
It seems like I've either been on the road or involved in something as all consuming as moving since February. Time has just whirled by and our weeklong getaway to Hawaii's Garden Isle seems like far more than seven months ago. Despite the time and the rather soggy weather we encountered, Kauai unexpectedly became one of those special places to me. The north shore town of Hanalei Bay ranks up there with Encinitas, California and Kaiteriteri, New Zealand as one of those places I've visited and immediately felt right at home.
If our trip to Canada was a lesson in shooting in less than ideal conditions - Kauai was the test. Visiting during the rainy season has it's perks in terms of pricing, but challenges in attempting to shoot a travel video. That being said, I absolutely love getting to show you the fantastic time which can be had on a tropical island in between and sometimes during rain showers. About midway during the hike featured at the end of this video, the rain drops got larger and larger until they reached that point where we just had to let go and accept that we were going to get soaked.
That point, where you just let go - it's the best part of any day.
