Photo Essay: 30 Days Living In New York City
Exactly a year ago today, I left Seattle for New York City on a one way ticket.
It's part of my day job, albeit a rare part, when I have to drop everything in the rest of my life and get on a plane without knowing when I'll get to come home.
Getting plopped down across the country for an undetermined period of time is an interesting experience. Half the time, I can't say I was thinking much about it - working 12 hours a day and all. The other half of the time, it was an exercise in flexibility, self-reliance, and urban exploration.
A year later - I find myself reflecting on this time and thinking about the parts of this time that I really miss;
- Eating at Siggy's, Candle Cafe, Bogota Bistro, and Sun In Bloom.
- Shopping for groceries at Union Market and Perelandra.
- Grabbing dinner with friends across the city.
- Shopping for yarn at Purl Soho with my mom.
- The subway (SO MUCH!) .
If you were following me on Instagram this time last year, you may remember I decided to challenge myself to sharing one photo a day of my life in New York City. It was my little dose of creativity during a time where I had to drop all of my other non-day job projects. So, I thought today would be the perfect day to piece together all the photos (taken on my iPhone) from my 30 days living in New York City and share them with you here in a complete collection.
