Gluten Free in Vancouver, British Columbia
Strange as it is, being just a few hours north of Seattle, I've barely spent any time in Vancouver, British Columbia. On our most recent trip, I made sure that at least our route remedied that situation and allowed for a drive and the most important kind of stop in this mostly new-to-me city. That most important stop of course was an all gluten free bakery that I've seen Brooke from Gluten Free Authority post about oh so many times. We followed just about the worst Google Maps directions I've ever encountered, got lost before we even made it to the city, but never the less found our way to the Gluten Free Epicurean.
The highlight of our visit?
Gluten free apple fritters.
By far one of the most deliciously evil treats I've ever eaten. Frosted, crispy, and filled with fresh chunks of apples.
While I was crossing my fingers for a fresh loaf of bread to bring on our trip, it was already sold out by the time we arrived. Instead I settled for frozen hamburger buns which I was reassured would not need to be toasted to be tasty. Just as promised, the buns were incredibly tasty simply thawed and unheated - a highlight of the carbs of our camping trip.
I'm greatly looking forward to making it back up to Vancouver to try more treats from this tasty bake shop.
